As an all arable farm practicing direct drilling what are the options after roundup ? Are there herbicide alternatives?
Finding something that kills everything is easy. Getting it registered for use as a pesticide is a very different affair. How many total herbicides remain on the approved list?If glyphosate is banned they will soon find something else that is a total non-selective herbicide. It can't be that hard to find something that kills plants.

As far as I can tell it because of that that it might get banned.I thought some of the gm were bred to be r-up resistant ? quite liked the idea of spraying a growing crop, and killing every thing bar said crop!
Be hard to use illegally when you’ve got the only burnt off fields in the countryBig boys be buying artic loads to store will they???
yeah, bit of a give away that yellow field......Be hard to use illegally when you’ve got the only burnt off fields in the country
It’s only a matter of time now there banning it in Europe and they’ll never take our products if we still use it
They won't ban others products from coming in. I always thought if they ban a product because it's a carcinogenic surely they can't then import it from else where. I then noticed that the Germans have stated that they are banning it for environmental reasons. Which would then allow them to still import.they will starve then as if they ban uk product they will have to ban the millions of tonnes of soya and other no eu crops they import
Austria are going for total ban on all imports as well. They won't ban others products from coming in.
