Poison, air rifle with camera sights, fenn traps and live traps here , seems to have stopped them .

Or in the kitchen?
We used to get pressed blocks of poison with some grain in it. The rats and mice loved it. This year they’re off the shelves - you now need an exterminator liscence to buy them. My neighbour has made her own instead- flour, baking soda and sugar in a dish. The rats love it. She hopes they blow up after eating it. so far no bodies to be found.
I watched a YouTube video of a guy pouring petroleum down a rathole in his garden and then throwing lighted matches down the hole, in hopes of burning the rats out. It was only after the third, or fourth match, that there was a terrific explosion and most of his lawn was lifted several feet in the air; not the best way of getting rid of rats.
I think it was Propane Gas, not petrol
We have two Jack Russels who kill a lot of smaller animals exept rats and mice. Its very annoying.Too bad you can’t drop by and have your dogs teach mine a thing or two!Anyone who has a serious rat problem, I would be keen to come and give them a pasting with my wee pack of terriers. They are good with stock (obviously) and very efficient at their job. We do poison here and shoot them also, but I think the dogs probably account for the biggest number. Even just the one dog who accompanies me to the shed to feed up each night will have killed a couple of hundred this year around the barns just mooching her self while I do my jobs for an hour. Sport of kings to.
