Red clover sowing

Bag of clover arrived yesterday. Ground has really dried up, no rain forecast for weeks.
I have this old antique to use

Was thinking of putting it on least aggressive setting to disturb the soil, sow with little wagtail and roll in? Current picture of ground

clover seed can stay dormant for months, so it's not the disaster you think, when very few germinate to begin with, they gradually come through the year.

Agree with above sentiments, soil test, correct any issues and have it drilled properly. I've seen some lovely red clover crops established with a Vaderstaad, 5-6kg/acre sowing rate. Roll firm afterwards whatever you do.

Beautiful crop to grow.

Red clover will not establish well or persist if the P and K indices of the soil are low. Deal with all perennial problem weeds first as you have zero hope of controlling them in red clover.

Whiff of roundup once the clover is well established will get rid of everything else ?

Had an excellent mix from DLF maybe ten years ago now. The red clover was surprisingly persistent and had lofa festololium among other grasses with it. Don’t think they do it any more.
Sheep will be hard on RC though so you have to move them on quick.

Hopefully be planting some red clover next week once the lime is spread. Also planting in ryegrass and Timothy along with beans as a nurse crop for it.
Make sure you have got your soil tested and PH is ok.
