It’s going to effect some in the building trade more than others.
Yes there are some very heavy users, but so too plenty of builders and all they run is a mixer.

Talking with a local copper we know well last week.

His thoughts on Travellers and their fuel usage was not for the faint hearted. He really hates that they are not allowed to just stop the transit pickups, and get them crushed when on red. ..

I tend not to include Gypsies under the "traveller" banner as there are distinctions...

Just called jewsons hire ,asked them when they are getting their machinery changed over ,,they dont know what's happening with it .
Head office haven't notified the branches ,not heard anything from the service companies .
No end are going to get caught out .

It will the hire company thats responsible to notify the hirer to put white in else they will get all their machinery flushed through ,only for somebody to send it back with a load of red in ,like a builder thats got a few cans they want shut of

Slight derailment to the thread I know but I’ve never heard them refer to themselves as travellers, the ones that are dealing that I see are usually fairly settled.

Ethically I’m not even sure how it is this these days.

Jewson hire machine comming today , manager informed me ,,on return ,refill with white as their bulk tank is empty and they won't get red again ,,£1.70 pl at the pumps now .

My brother told me that some bright spark at the Welland and Deepings IDB disposed of 80000 litres of red and replaced it with white, thinking they had to change. That will have cost them.

We are having a piece of land levelled and compacted for a yard in April, can the contractor use Red diesel?

It is @GAM problem if the contractor raises his price accordingly to cover the increased cost of diesel for them.
