Why do you say that? My experience with Autoglass through NFU on three occasions has been excellent.
Needed a new windscreen in the jd 6920 and had to leave then to it. Came back 3/4 of the way through and they’d not taken the bonnet off to do it so wrecked all the trim at the back of the engine bay trying to squash it in. And the glass is crap too….. terrible with polarised shades on although I’ll admit not the best sunnies for tractoring.

Had the door on my 6620 go before xmas.called nfu to sort and it was all pretty efficient then auto glass called and could not come for 5 days despite 24/7 service.i accepted it and waited.we had to pay I think £50 excess and the vat which was just about more than I could get a door from my local dealer, genuine too and could have fitted it my self.only a rubber round outside and a couple of hinges and a bar and door lock.oem door was about £120 and one from Nick Young a lot less.wish I’d called round before contacting insurance company.expect premium will rise on back of this and was expecting £5/600 for the door glass.lesson learned

Don't forget you can claim the VAT back too, so it really only costs you the £50 up front (plus any potential rise in premiums).

Potential rise in premiums may be related to the claim, but could also just be an annual increase they like to stick on for loyalty. After all, plenty of people have a roof blow of their house or some such, and they don't see a huge jump in the premium as a result. It's an accepted cost by the insurance company for providing the service that they do. Once replaced, that roof is no more (and potentially less) of a risk/liability than the neighbours roof next door.

Got a big windscreen done a few years ago through the dealer. They took it in, stripped off the bonnet and some other bits and bobs, got the glass fitter in just to fit the glass, and then they put it back together.

Can't remember which insurance insurance company it was (the broker has moved us a couple of times since then) but they were fine with all that.

The frameless doors have certainly increased glass sales. Our ten year old valtra doors are about 35 mm box section and the dealer couldn't remember the last time they'd repaired one. New shape ones, they have new glass in stock all the time. My neighbors class had two new doors in the first month, one a cow brushed past it while cutting net off a bale, the other driving on the road and it wasn't latched properly. Opened it a couple of inches to slam it and the wind got behind it.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
