Replacing front tyres only

I would be putting a switch in the stop four wheel braking if it doesn’t have one already.
Engage it when you need it

Why not just consider the four wheel drive switch

But surely as soon as you touch the brakes in a tractor the 4wd will be engaged. Slippery concrete can be very interesting with no 4wd on a tractor.

In all fairness I was replying to to a post suggesting taking the propshaft off

I was in a 155r last year for a few days and wondered that myself, brand new BKT on the front and pretty well worn Michelin on the back, no weightblock on the front and a 16 then 18 ton trailer on the back, ratio had to be a bit off.

You could try a different make that has a lower Rolling radius to match better... (yes, different makes are different RR despite showing the same size on the sidewall)

This is the best way of doing it for now, but you will be trouble if you replace the rears when the slightly "smaller" fronts are part worn.
But definitely avoid brands with higher Rolling Circumferences like Firestone Performers, if only replacing half a set.
