Well mine have lasted better than anything else I’ve tried so far. That’s all I’m bothered about; need to be comfy too.

To be fair I've had a pair and they do last, but I find them sweaty and heavy, I walk a lot in the winter months in wellies

Schoeffel is just part of a uniform worn by people that *desperately* want to identify and 'fit in' as part of a tribe or organisation.
Same goes with the dress codes and tribalism found with football fans, Goths, vegans, 'crusties', LGBTQ+, Hitler Youth, etc etc.

I once went into a gun shop looking for a new air rifle - there was the owner, two lackeys and several "customers" (i.e. had nothing better to do than hang around a gun shop) all dressed in Schoffel wear & they seemed more interested in their virtual fashion show than making a sale... so I went elsewhere!

Actually, I’ve got some cream chinos, and there far comfier than jeans . Mind you, I’m not convinced the colour makes much difference.
