IMO people who will buy this aren't butter buyers, they probably buy vegetable based spreads so actually buying more milk

There are several brands of 'spreadable' butter available, which are blends of butter and rape seed oil.

Presumably this is just the next step, with more oil & less butter?

Food companies really do have to start and ask themselves about the true benefits and costs to society of bringing products like this to market.

Not sure what I think, although I'd imagine there's quite a lot of people who won't buy butter because not spreadable straight from the fridge.
