As above , what vaccinations and bolus's do people use on their suckler cows ?, I do very little but numbers are creeping up and I'm beginning to think it could be a :poop: storm if I do get an outbreak of something nasty.

Blood test to see which bolus you need if any. For vaccines depends on wether buying in or closed herd, ask good vet for advice

Nothing vaccinated here, cows are bolused with an Agrimin high iodine bolus at housing. Makes a difference.
Edit. Cows are Rotaveced, but as this is for the calf I didn’t mention it.

How many cows? When calving? Spring calving here, BVD jab, high iodine bolus an fluke/worm drench soon after housing. Then high iodine bolus at turnout. Helping with tightening the calving an cows in calf.

Bolus ours at turnout which gives cover for grazing period. We give bespoke mineral based on silage analysis during winter with a very noticeable effect on cow and calf health.

We bvd vaccinate and batch test for ibr and lepto( never found any) were johnes testing but as clear couldn't justify the cost of testing every year to stay accredited. Closed herd except bulls which are tested and isolated on arrival. We suffer with high levels of molednum (Not sure on spelling) which means we copper bolus every year and find iodine helps so use coiesecure bolus. Calves are given a paste for rotavirus when born.
