It's ideal for proper country types as demonstrated here:

If I could have any Range Rover model made, the top of my list would be a original 2 door version with Overdrive.

A nice 3rd generation version with the V8 diesel (the L322model I believe) would be a nice daily driver

I had a 2018 vogue for a week. It was truly amazing to drive . It was only the v6 not the v8 but still so so comfortable . Yes you felt like a pr*ck when you park it but the comfort and safety you feel inside is amazing . I’ve driven topspec diesel v8 land cruiser and it’s zero comparison. I’ve been a passenger in a v8 g wagon. Again nice but no comparison…. Closet was an Audi Q7 but again , not quite a RR.

I’m on my 12th Landrover product and like buying anything from property to tractors, the key is buying right and selling right. Had considerably more trouble with an Audi A6 than any of the Landrovers I’ve owned. Current RR Vogue is latest shape V8 which I have run for last 3 years with only one inexpensive trip to the dealer. Crossing 55k now so time to move it on. Father has had some absolute shockers in his time with Landrover, but then he seems to buy them at an age I’d be moving them on. With the BIK advantages, the new one is potentially very appealing and looks beautiful.
Nothing comes close to a Range Rover in my option, but that’s the joy of people - we all think differently.

Full EV in 2024 will be the one to have, no interest in everyday cars with ICE anymore, it’s too much hassle / inconvenience and cost for comparatively rubbish performance

think this update looks great and has instantly really dated the current RR badly

never run a modern JLR product outside warranty and you will be just fine ! I’ve had cars that were no problem at all and others that would have cost fortunes had warranty not picked up the tab

As much as I love the “idea” of a Range Rover with their ledgendary built in the midlands with a 70s work ethic reliability I’d spend my money on a BMW and a new tractor and take the wife on a holiday…. oh wait i did

Is ICE still In Car Entertainment systems?

Why no point in them? You not like music.

once you have lived with a EV as a daily and can charge at home the hassle (not to mention cost) of filling up with fuel seems very inconvenient. The performance of ICE is abysmal by comparison

clean air zones getting common fast adding more cost to ice ownership and tax rates crazy on stuff like a v8 Range Rover. Used values of ice cars are really going to plummet as wellI think as they become increasingly expensive to run and more and more socially unacceptable

for our every day family car to go back to ice now would feel like going back to horse and cart !

a full EV of this new Range Rover will be very interesting , getting range out of anything that big and heavy is going to be a serious challenge, new battery tech required like Tesla’ Plaid I think !

*the above said I love a great ice v8 v10,v12 flat 6 etc and will continue to own such wonderful machine, they are not daily transport however any longer, they are like bits of art, or fine wines etc to be savoured and appreciated occasionally

Mr Metcalf is averaging over 60mpg in his plug-in hybrid Range Rover over the 8000 or so miles he's had it, which is pretty amazing. This is the way to go for now I think, especially if the occasional long journey is anticipated. Maybe for journeys of up to 200 miles with an alternative for those long journeys, a fully electric car is practical for very many today. Not for the majority though, who unlike us, have their car living on the street with no way to charge it when at home.

60 is still rubbish vs the economy of full EV though ! …… then tax etc and crap performance vs EV

hybrid worst of both wolds re complexity and cost to build and service, I see no point over full EV as long as range works for you and you can charge at home which in my case I can tick both boxes so no interest in hybrid or ice options, I will wait for the full EV version
