Some Australian visitors to our farm said they used 5kg of AS in 75-100 L of water with flat fans at night for snails. I’ve never got around to trialing it though so can’t vouch for it in any way!

I get these v v small slugs on my land. With direct drilling it can be very extremely difficult to get osr established as they don't seem to come to the surface. V frustrating.

I also think barley is negatively allelopathic towards osr compared to wheat and that has an impact
Not sure if we have had this discussion before. The Bthru I sell @£11/ha will do them no problem. Even with Anchor added to stop it moving too quickly from the surface (it is very soluble) it will take them or drive them deep. Note you can never say anything kills anymore but suffice to say if you go in the evening when they are active as per AS it has the same effect as salt. Mixture of Sulphates.
We apply it along with pre-ems which in the case of Osr means that the CSFB come in then move on as the soil conditions are uncomfortable for them. Where we have no slug problems we use Gard (garlic aspirin mix) at 0.5ltr/ha then again at egg laying time end sept at 1.0ltr/ha £20/ltr which stops the ingress of larvae to the stems.

I'll give it a go next year
