looks like FB on OSR, but is infact minute slugs. Had three doses
of miniXX, doesn't seem to have done anything. Pellets still there, slugs not interested. any way of stopping them?
What rate, Clive?
At what growth stage? Pre emergence to avoid scorch?if you have straight AS 100L/ha - nukes slugs snd gives the crop a bit of N which gets it away
could probably get away with less, i’ve never trialled different rates

Approved? Fine as long as it is within the 30 kg/ha N limit.when you have slugs to kill - it's a contact solution
PS I'm not sure this is approved - its just something we found works / helps in the past
Well below thatApproved? Fine as long as it is within the 30 kg/ha N limit.
fert jets when we have done it in the past100l/ha of AS through flat fans would scorch the bejesus out of the crop though?
Be like reglone wouldn't it?
Ah, that makes more sense.fert jets when we have done it in the past

Not sure if we have had this discussion before. The Bthru I sell @£11/ha will do them no problem. Even with Anchor added to stop it moving too quickly from the surface (it is very soluble) it will take them or drive them deep. Note you can never say anything kills anymore but suffice to say if you go in the evening when they are active as per AS it has the same effect as salt. Mixture of Sulphates.I get these v v small slugs on my land. With direct drilling it can be very extremely difficult to get osr established as they don't seem to come to the surface. V frustrating.
I also think barley is negatively allelopathic towards osr compared to wheat and that has an impact

We apply it along with pre-ems which in the case of Osr means that the CSFB come in then move on as the soil conditions are uncomfortable for them. Where we have no slug problems we use Gard (garlic aspirin mix) at 0.5ltr/ha then again at egg laying time end sept at 1.0ltr/ha £20/ltr which stops the ingress of larvae to the stems.
