Observed on the business news this morning Grant Thornton have been fined £2.3 million and severely reprimanded by "The Financial Reporting Council" over failure in it's audit of a company called Asset Co.

The Regulator said Grant Thornton and it's partner Robert Napper had admitted a "Lack of professional competence and due care". They allowed Asset Co. to falsify and inflate it's value and share price. Napper was fined £130,000 and banned from auditing for 3 years while Grant Thornton paid £200,000 in additional costs.

One can only question why in view of the Toad's activities, Grant Thornton's actions in respect of UK Country Capitals has not been examined as irregularities are clearly evident and the only duty of care they exercise was for the benefit of Barclays and Toad.

See Lloyds is trying to dodge the potential SFO investigation requested by Anthony Stansfeld of TVP, by unilaterally appointing a Judge to investigate whether there was a cover-up.
When Oh When will Lloyds accept their responsibilities and recompense the victims properly, so that the fraud investigators can look at other banking frauds.
Like the one discussed on this thread

Disgusting, trying to save their own necks while they continue to trample on their victims.

They are also being advised by the most expensive lawyers, whose skills lie as much in creating false scenarios, to,effectively scare the banksters into protecting themselves further.Take away the banksters inflated ego and they are people of little substance, the city lawyer is a different beast, preying on the frailties of a system that very often they helped devise but safe in the knowledge that their paymasters are very unlikely to turn on them, too many skeletons, bigger cans of worms,Pandoras' box etc etc.
The lawyers thrive on greed ,jealousy and fear,if they can't find that ,they'll sure as hell create it.

Problem with the big lawyer firms is the power they have to knobble smaller lawyers as I found to my cost. Would not need to go to appeal if the actual legal argument had been correctly pleaded.

seems there are still parasitic ambulance chasers chancing their luck if they think theres a pot of gold to chase despite the changes to 'no win no fee' , hope the latest Iraqi lot get their come uppance at SDT.

On another note, first Waitrose, now another supermarket giant is focussing on the local gourmet delicacies

Wonder how the sale of the Tin Shed is progressing
I see the investors on the other form are still worried about whether they will get a payback
Loan overdue more than 6 months, interest racking up.
Wonder what Toad did with the £2M

Kept the carousel spinning we presume, and I suppose McAlpines fusiliers must have been settled, otherwise, I believe Toad and Mole would be far from intactus.
