Getting their act together? I don't think so.
Plenty of brownie points available for them if they can take on the big boys and get the occasional success.
Nothing available for them if by 'taking on' they have to get some muck on their shoes.
Please don’t get mad get EVEN

Today's news paints a pretty depressing picture of our governments priorities. A committee of MP's has apparently spent 2 1/2 years and who knows how much tax payer's money investigating cheating in a foreign bike race but the same MP's don't appear willing to check into wide-scale financial fraud and theft that has been carried out in their own back yards.

And they won't as long as HM Treasury wields the big stick keeping them in their place.

At the risk of throwing a hand grenade in to this thread, would these be the same MP's that we are wanting to give sole charge to, to run this country?

Fund houses pay out £32m compensation after City watchdog action. Not all bad just lost it’s way
In the general scheme of things the above is no other than peanuts and could be gathered in at playtime.
My understanding is that PPI settlements have now exceeded £40 billion and the sum continues to rise, estimates currently say a total sum in the region of £55 billion is waiting to be collected. I really hope all affected by Phillips have not forgotten (where they have reason) to register their claims, the money is available. Phillips and his Acorn crowd may have knocked the stuffing out of you but that does not mean you are not able to seek redress in other matters. Many have not claimed because of some false pride, forget the pride and go after what you may well be legally entitled to. The amounts you may be able to claim may well seem insignificant in relation to what you may have lost but believe me £5k, £10k, £15k or even much more can be very useful when you have nothing. Any success in getting any entitlement through PPI will not detract from your right to recourse from Phillips/Acorn and cronies.

Revealed in court in Edinburgh that despite claims UK Acorn Finance Ltd are not solvent, they claim otherwise, revealing that they have a claim against a wound up surveyors company's insurance for close on £14m.I hope the lawyers for the insurers might rely on Platform Funding Ltd v Anderson & Associates .

Strange that, I heard it was the practice for UK and later Acorn to instruct the valuer what value to put on a property. Of course one firm of wound up surveyors came in with a value and Mole came in with a few £000's less so covering his back.

Would be nice to even be acknowledged by the SFO. Filled in the SFO online form in November and still not heard anything from them despite been given a chase by my MP.

Extensive correspondence with S F O Des & Co are not big enough fish for them to get of their arses
Think the maligne influence of the Tresuary
Rember Private Eye named it the Serious Farce Office

Mine is not Des & Co but the new name "Together" which has already been fined 1.75 million by the FCA on part of the group which is regulated this is exactly the same on the unregulated arm but with added fraud.
