Pre-emptive use of Spectam is why we are not allowed to buy it any more.
Its unfair to pin point blame really, its more like all round growing concern for Antibiotic resistance ,quite rightly .Pre-emptive use of Spectam is why we are not allowed to buy it any more.
There’s still people out there that think it’s a good idea too give a 1ml shot of betamox too every new born lamb so I don’t think there’s any hope for us It’s no wonder half our wormers don’t work and we’re not allowed access too certain drugsIt’s good to see that going cold turkey on prophylactic antibiotics for lambs is being fully embraced by the farming community.
A corner of a Synulox calf tablet mixed in with a wee bit of electrolytes in warm water also brings about a miracle cure, but that likely falls under the same catagory, but I’ve used it as a treatment rather than a preventative.Noroclav is co-amoxiclav which is a very important second -line antibiotic in humans for a variety of infections. It should certainly not be used as preventative treatment in animals.
What would lambs be worth in a big glut if we all lamb outside in mid April?Lamb later outdoors, sorts out most lambing issues apart from the weather!
I get more watery mouth and joint ill outside than in, watery mouth on hot days and joint ill on on cold wet shitty days.Lamb later outdoors, sorts out most lambing issues apart from the weather!
Yes, nothings as simple as some people like to make out.I get more watery mouth and joint ill outside than in, watery mouth on hot days and joint ill on on cold wet shitty days.
They would be worth fk all if they are all laid dead lambing outside if it’s a sh!t wet cold April like we’ve had in the past…What would lambs be worth in a big glut if we all lamb outside in mid April?
Nothing like a good storm to keep the lamb price up.They would be worth fk all if they are all laid dead lambing outside if it’s a sh!t wet cold April like we’ve had in the past…
Try Colitox from Agri-Lloyd 07793824998 Offer ends tomorrowLast 25 years we have used Terramycin pills for prevention of watery mouth, all triplets and weaker lambs but vet can’t source these now so has given us a 100ml bottle of spectam but due to the shortage we have to keep taking it back to get it refilled !!!!! This we be a pain as we have more than one lambing shed.
Anybody got an easier solution to this problem?
Yep got that flier but I dont really grasp the whole probiotic thing, seems very little trial work iirc.Try Colitox from Agri-Lloyd 07793824998 Offer ends tomorrow
