Considering upgrading our mounted spreader. New model should have, in no particular order the following:

1. Weighing,
2. Section Control,
3. Ability to do variable rate application
4. Good build and paint quality,
5. Accuracy,
6. Ease of use,
7. Ease of cleaning,
8. Reliability.

Mounted, 2-3tn capacity.

All views & opinions appreciated.

I’ve set up a poll at the top.

On my 3rd krm. Current one is 10 years old weigh cells and isobus. just getting some rust now. Only changed 1 actuator 2 years ago, done a few bearings. Ticks the boxes. Always tray tests well. Might change it this year, only change i would make is a hydraulic drive.

The kv boys will be along soon 😁 TBH i think they are well worth a look and i might do the same.

Thanks Bg, why would you prefer hydraulic drive?

How wide are you wanting to spread?

Good question. 24m.
Any of the above then . Kv and krm definitely won't strip on steep land.

Vert expensive high spec amazone won't either .
Kuhn will and does I had 2 of them .

Kv have really good spread pattern I had 3 over 6 yrs they do need an actuator every now and then and they're 400 quid ish each

If you're doingba lot hydraulic drive is excellent

I have undulating gound with very steep banks in places. It’s difficult to keep disc speed constant going down hill in particular, it’s not unusual to 700 on the pto for a while. I moved to a hydraulic drive sprayer and the pump speed never changes. I think a constant disc speed keeping the pattern even better will pay for any extra cost in the 1st year.
