The people who preach rewilding are just thinly veiled marxists. They hate the human race and see re-wilding as a way to rid the planet of it, if wolves & lynx kill livestock then great, anything that makes life harder for those chinless, landowning, bumpkin Tory-voters then the better.
Of course their fantasy of reducing the world's population never extends to themselves or their friends and families.
They are amongst the most miserable, joyless, negative, hate filled people I've ever come across. If their fantasies were ever enacted, they'd make Pol Pot look like mother Theresa.
