They make excellent ring feeders if you cut the guts out ,weld two togethers ,a silage bale fits perfectly end ways on
They should haveHave they not all gone to scrap?
No good thingsJust thinking out aloud...
Little David Brown and Box Seed Drill, would I see any benefit from adding a pair of cage wheels to the tractor for either winter or spring sowing?
What's the good and bad things about them?!
i bought a set of duals with my own money rather than use cage wheelsI well remember the Bettinson ones we had, on a Ford 4600 which weighed very little they spread the weight quite well, I'm not sure whether the wheelslip they caused helped to alleviate compaction or made it worse.
Best thing about them was you could take them to the field on top of the cultivator, put them on easily with the tractor up on a square of sleeper when you got there, all by yourself. Off again at night and chuck them up on the cultivator to go home.
Soon as I could sign cheques, I scrapped them and bought duals.

Wherever that isAt ilkestone
In the right conditions , they were very good at spreading the weight. Remember the weight is carried on the tyre ribs. Getting the tyre pressures right was the key. for these light little tractors they were fine, but hardly ideal on the road.I’ve never had anything to do with them apart from load ours onto the scrap bin. Just can’t see the point of them they look like they won’t spread the weight as there surface is small so presume they are for grip on 2wd tractors
Did you buy the duals?Just thinking out aloud...
