The rumour mill says it was a done deal with town and country who he works for but there has been a massive backlash from the local cattle farmers to stop it happening

Surely, if 'the deal has been done' it should be Newark & Sherwood council that make the announcement, not whoever 'thinks' he's the new man sending out some random texts
I see it's 10 days since you posted that. I know the wheels of local government grind very slowly but it looks like the 'deal maybe hasn't been done' yet

The deal's not done till the new guy holds the first sale, IMO
