Grass landwheat land not malting barley
Grass landwheat land not malting barley
That’s incredible. Give mine 100kgs and yield varies between 2.25 and2.75t ac.Give it about 110 kg N on our sand and if will meet malting spec but yield about 2 t per acre. Give 140 and you will touch 3 t and sell as feed.
Penalised?!100 isn’t enough for a decent yield here and can get penalised for low N.
Penalised?!
Suprised you want a cover crop , will take N out of the soil and carry it over winter ,but you dont know like FYM , when and how much it will release back in the next growing season ,Heavy land
cover crop
notill high seed rate
don't y n Pre drilling
April planting
1.6 to 1.8 n 90% of the time
the rejections are ergot germ( if you risk it )
premium needs to be £10 to risk sending it irispective of how good the test data is
We had a load rejected because the N was too low. Can’t remember the year but it rained during the spring and leeched it.Penalised?!
Feed is about £10 per tonne less than that here. What is malting barley worth over feed this year. Feed around here is in the £132/5 bracket
That’s why I asked as we often get a bit of a premium on feed barley and feed wheat in this area, making growing milking or malting often not worth the hassleFeed is about £10 per tonne less than that here.
Perhaps that was high N malting they wanted? We had a load rejected because the N was too low. Can’t remember the year but it rained during the spring and leeched it.
