White clover in round bales

we always used additive with (mainly) pure clover stands , as above good idea to feed a bit of straw with very high clover bales for a bit of fibre , though the red had stalks which they are all up , move as little as poss as soon as leaves go black be very careful, row when dew on ground
I was told that cattle benefit from the "prickle factor" of longer roughage in the rumen, which helps them digest I guess, and improves intake, silage contractor told me this, and he does a bit of relief milking too so I guess gets to talk to lots of different people.

That's why a bit of grass stalk doesn't hurt too much.

Remember reading somewhere that too much clover in silage can cause fermentation problems but can’t remember where or who wrote the article??
Depends what you classify as a problem.

Seen bales of late made RC silage that's got black stinking liquid oozing out of them and cows fighting to get at it over maize silage.

It's only a problem if they won't eat it everything else can be balanced

told a neighbour to finish up a few bales we had left over one year , he cut the top open and left them as he said they were rotted , didnt know for a few weeks , by then was all wasted , clover often goes black in the bale but feeds no problem ,
