We run one replaced an 820 also run an 810. Nothing wrong with them good reliable comfortable machines is what you’re looking at a current one with fpt engine or an older one with an jd engine. We’re running CIS spec to keep things simple so can’t speak for higher spec cebis etc. We had a little bother with front axle seals but nothing too dramatic but we’re running duals all round and front mounted gear so to be expected.

If you’re buying s/h you are benefitting from their biggest failing depreciation. New price is up there with jd spec for spec but s/h your at case / ford money when buying at auction or out the trade.

anything else you would like to know just ask

Closer inspection says 24/24 hexashift. Only had jd power/auto quad before, but presumably that's similar.
Yes so 6 power shifts in 4 ranges, the range changes are robotic.

In transport mode it will change up all 24 gears each time you press the powershift switch.

In field mode, you have to manually authorise range change.

In Auto it will change up and down all the gears automatically depending on throttle position.

17 plate FPT good engines, if you'd been looking at a 2012 or earlier with JD engine, probably best avoided.

We have a 820 which although bought new in 2021 is a the old tier 3 model they still sell overseas. I looked at an older but newer spec 850 in UK but was worried about ad blue but in hindsight should have bought it for the better cab etc. Claas lent us a CVT 870 in UK and I was very impressed. Hexashift is a good transmission with lots of gears and the Cebis is worth having. My son worked a summer for Claas and he says there are no real horror stories with either Axions or Arions. They are good tractors and generally cheaper second hand than the competition

Any users out there?

Anything to watch for in particular if buying 2nd hand?

Meant to be comfortable, but apart from that I don't know much about them.

Many thanks
If you want a door that springs open constantly, shock absorbers that fail on a regular basis, an oil filling port that’s hidden away almost underneath the cab, the ergonomics of a LADA and scoliosis because you can’t turn the seat properly maybe it’s an option

The door latch is adjustable or easily changed.

Usually the most comfortable tractor on the market aside from a modern JCB Fastrac.

How have you had such a bad time with them? We've got 3 Arions but I have spent time in axion 800s and don't see any of the problems you have had.
It Could be one of those days, but the farm I’m on has 3 950s,
I bought one in the end, and after the autumn work this yr I can say its the most comfortable tractor we have ever had, by miles.
Sorry I shouldn’t have put a downer on it, too many hours getting jarred across a field in one that’s past it’s sell by date, the same with any tractor

There are very few used Axion 850s about. We had a demo of one and I was very impressed with it.

Are Fendt,JD money new so not willing to accept poor depreciation.

Why are there so few used ones around? Only answer I can come up with is cause not many people buying new ones.

Loads of smaller range 600s.

If the tractors are good, is depreciation an issue, surely you offset tax against depreciation? It could be a bit of a self fullfilling prophecy, they depreciatebecause people are scared of the depreciation, just like Fendt and Deere depreciate less because people think the drecieate less so buy them

Depreciation isn't too much of an issue if you change a Claas for another Claas.
