Front Press

I would say you’ll overload the front axle on the tractor. I know someone who had a 7.270 and ran 1800kg on the front and water in front wheels and the diff failed.
Good to hear some real life, I was looking at all the spec and the front lift will handle it the total weight of the tractor will be up to the recommended max.

Got a terra tech here 4m with paddles and leading tines, it is a fair lump of a thing but balances well with the sulky combination

Guttler simples !
i run the twin roller one
Tines are usefull on the front but just get in the way for the benefits.
10yrs still going fine here
Duplex 56cm rings, bomb proof. 950kg weight
3 staggered row of tines stick out another 1.2metres been off mine last 5yr.
You could go with the close mounted paddles mind.

No steering I see ? This work ok?

That whole setup would likely weigh similar to what I'm aiming for, and on the same tractor as well. Does it ever feel like you're overloaded or is it comfortable enough?

Fine when it’s all on, but need the press on first as tractor too light to move the drill safely with out, so it’s very heavy on the steering until you balance it out with the drill, most of the time that setup is on a fendt 724 which is even lighter on the front than the puma, once it’s all on it balances well even with a ton of seed in the hopper

I’m looking for a front press and after a quick look around the internet I’m now completely unsure what I’m looking for. They come in many different formats, large packer rollers like on a power harrow, gutter rollers, flexi coils and straight rings that I have seen…………as well as a variety of tones in the front of some.
So what are the pros and cons of the various types?
As far as use is concerned, a large proportion of the work will involve grass ground, either on furrows coming out of grass or on fields going back to grass, so I’m guessing tines might not be best for me.
Consolidation is important though, be it a firm seedbed for grass or pushing down turned over turf so it doesn’t get pulled back up so do I want a heavy press or is the type of press more important?
Thoughts and experiences please.
Get a 1.5m sumo tyre press
.£500
Full width ones are a wast of time and make turning harder and are too heavy

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but wondering if those twin guttlers will do any good at breaking down grass sods following a short disc in grassland. Looking to put something on the front to reduce the number of passes made when discing down unploughed grassland.

Cant see why not. better than hitting stones anyways. They might just roll them flat of course
