That's true, but the Subaru AWD sends power to the wheels that have the grip, without a diff lock too. Have you ever used one in snow?
Flat bottom helps too, nothing hangs any lower than you can observe from the side.

that is the weirdest dealers ive ever been to, its a multi storey car park they either rent or have bought and its full in every carspace over aronud 3/4 levels of cars forsale, seems well dodgy to me money laundering springs to mind

I've used a Subaru in snow and it was near useless. The front suspension blocked up absolutely solid with compacted snow, leaving it with no front articulation or spring whatsoever.
