Combine settings

does everyone realise these book settings are basic settings??
you need to set the combine to do the job not go by page 98 in the owners manual
Yes I understand that but with 1 person recommending a fan speed of 1200 and another of 800 I was just trying to clear up the confusion. Didn't want someone reading this thread thinking 1200 was a good place to start for a dom 88 and then blowing half of it out the back 🤷‍♂️

Anybody got any settings for tx68 plus in wheat just not getting the forward speed 2.5 k above that and throwing over sives warkers are ok concave 8mm drum 900 sives open 10 top bottom 8 not bad sample will live with it 3.5 ton ish crops should be doing more in a day thanks.

We are experiencing the same problem but it only occurs when going down a slight hill. It’s bring an enormous amount of trash into the tank when going down a slight incline - A lot of thrashed heads. I am not a combine driver and don’t have much experience with setting one up. If you close the sieves does that create more or less wind? I think the machine has the top sieve at 9/10mm bottom at 4mm wind 750, drum quite tight 10/11mm @ 780rpm. Been running a tight drum otherwise we are not getting all the wheat out. Any help would be good.
NH cx860.

Opti Fan in NH CX combines increases wind on the downcline & decreases the wind on the incline automatically.

Slight incline nothing happens, normal for us is 750, downcline 950, incline 650. Seemed to work ?

I've been struggling with our mf 7274 in wheat I've tried all sorts of settings. Average 4t/acre and can get between 3 and 3 1/2 k before it throws it over the walkers.sives are ok. I think it's brittle straw causing too much trash making it harder to separate

First piece we did with our mf32 I really struggled to stop small bits of straw in the sample, I backed off the concave a notch and slowed it down a bit, it stopped breaking bits of straw up and sample was perfect, I think we have forgotten just how ripe everything is now, lots of grain getting rubbed off by the header auger so needs very little thrashing

Anyone on here with Lexion 540 straw walker. If so what would your outputs be for wheat and spring barley. Tons per hour.

Too many variables to give an accurate answer. Stood or flat wet or dry Lots of straw or short droughted crop Look at the advertised spec and go for 75% of that and that should be close. dont get too carried away with how fast neighbours are going,if they want to waste the biggest part of a years work to leave speed stripes up the field let ‘em get on with it.

Not looking for an exact answer just someone with one or similar on a standard run of the mill crop.

Our Massey came with a feeler guage for setting the seives. 7 prices of 2mm and a 1 mm, easy to set by feel.

Short bits of straw is a constant battle with our old 34 and the current 7256.
