Dipping after crovect

I’ve just treated lambs with crovect, but with a bit of fly starting on a couple of ewes I’d rather dip the whole lot, as it happens the dipper man can be here tomorrow, could the crovect treated lambs be dipped tomorrow or would it be better to shed them off?

I’d rather dip them as I’ve another lot of lambs that will be sold with them, so that they all look the same, but obviously not if it’s going to do them harm

I wouldn’t think it will matter
It might depend on what he’s using to dip with
SP dip is Cypermethrin same ingredient as crovect so you would be increasing the dose in effect
Golden Fleece is Diazinon so probably better than the above

I think if it’s fly cover your after Golden Fleece is a waste of time versus Crovect . You will get the 6-8 weeks cover with the Crovect , but if the flys are bad you will start getting struck sheep 3 weeks after dipping with the Gold Feece .
Good for scab and tick ect , waste of time for blowfly IMO

Do you think wool cover has got anything to do with it? too close to clipping and they don’t have the wool to hold onto it? Ewes were clipped over 4 weeks ago here so have a decent cover on them

anybody plunge dipping and getting strike after 3 weeks is not doing something correctly, and l'd lay money it's replenishment rate

I think that more likely than the strength of the dip ie I know I had dip strong enough and topped up often enough

That dip is to top up even if you don’t put any water in which a lot of folks can’t get their heads around
The active ingredient in the dip strips out as you put sheep through. If your not topping up properly it's quite possible you could be putting sheep through nothing more than dirty water. Very easy to think "we'll just get the last 50 dipped with what's in the tub".
