Maybe James shepherd. Could have been for his uncle. Think he sold it last year so couldn't have been a great success

We are only crofters. Only drilling away from farm ten days a year. Could use auger bucket as suggested above at home. Splitting a trailer and fitting auger etc quite a big investment for that period of time.

Could also use bins to fill creep feeders at away land we rent grass on. Save bouncing about countryside with 2t grain buckets of creep.

I don't think the farmers in US are stupid they've been using bins for years. Perhaps we need to encourage seed companies to start supplying seed in these hoppers.

I know many auger out of trucks into drills also.

Aye that was him I knew it was James.

I think it would be slow ish personally I think an old high lift trailer split down the middle and just a shoot on either side would work if your a split hopper or are you front and rear ?

Split front hopper. All on front.

What do you use?

Trailer auger be fine if grain only. Often putting on over 300kg/ha fertiliser too. Don't want lots of trailers at field.

Just fill a flat trailer at moment. Haul it to field and sorted for day. I like the bin idea. Fill these with auger bucket. Wouldn't even have to take them off trailer.

Would save bags taking up room in shed. Safer and could completely fill drill hopper.

split the trailer like I said and put that auger on it. Spot on and 15 ton give or take in the field at any time.

I moved the tipper body onto a skel trailer this year and carry liquid fert in the tank and shuttles at the front. Don’t even need a tractor on trailer to tip it as use seeder tractor hydraulics.

Should add previously used grain bins. All of the barley came down a pipe. So was quite straight forward to fill bags off pipe.

It's all stored bulk this year. So be different for filling bags.

I made a hopper from scrap steel, two plywood slides on bottom, one large, one small, hooks underneath to hold and fill bags if required.
It was originally for emptying feed bins so had to be low, hence the 2 slides as not much room for a cone.
It has a lift off greedy board so holds more when not used under feed bin

Slides pull towards forklift so you can reach by standing on front axle

Simple to make, quite squat with wide tines spacing so very stable.

I might sell this if the price was right as have a plan to build a new version

8t split hopper (2 products or varieties) lockable 5000L liquid tank, 2 x Pallet or IBC rear storage locker, LED work and road lighting, professional paint / VERY high quality fabrication, twin auger with pipes to plug into drill tractor to give a single tractor 1 man operation - Built into new chassis and high speed air-braked commercial axles

I’m sure that I read a thread started by @Romney_Rob where he was having an old Australian Cole drill filler trailer done up and fitted with a Rekord auger.
Can’t find it now.
Probably more Western drill filler trailers get sold to outdoor pig farmers for feed hopper filling than to arable farmers for their intended purpose. I have one, as well as a very nice Merrick Loggin 12t grain trailer with a Rekord auger.
