Gen 6 hi lux dpf problems.

Our 2015 hiux. 3.0 engine is in for its mot.

They can't put engine management light out. It's the dpf filter putting on they say.

I've suggested the usual pikey farmers solution like removing the bulb and putting black tape over light.

Anyone deleted it or any other solutions?
had to same problem with mine on tuesday -7 left it running for half an hr to warm up and jumped in and light was on . Tryed driving it more harder than normal but light still on few days later . ie today mine done 70000 miles 65 plate. in the end my pal told to disconnect batteys for couple of hrs . to reset itself ,connected it back up no light since and done about 60 miles today since , driving ok. mib just luck but worth a try. might not work on yours but never no.

I think everyone's getting a bit ahead of themselves. We have the money light on and a shop who claim it's DPF related but don't know what because if they knew what they could fix it.
Find someone who can tell you why the lights on before mapping/deleting and firing the parts cannon. (y)
Reading a code off a scan tool is not a diagnosis, it's a starting point.

Tried dealer with the same problem on a Dmax. They referred the codes to Isuzu who told me the problem was down to me not driving more than 20 miles at a time or using a motorway weekly. New EGR valve, sensors etc and another oil change, problem still there , DPF doctor would not look at it, referred back to Isuzu. Got a forced regen by Avon Tuning then back to dealer for another oil change, was told the forced regen would void any warranty (I didn't have one). Can see why 15 year old diesels are so popular around here.

It can't be beyond the whit of man to take the fudging thing off and clean it out somehow? Two good solid clamps to take it off clean it some how and put it back? This is a joke. How much emissionised BS are they going to put on cars before this comes to an end?
Wash it out as many times as you like, but if there is a fault the vehicle wont regen on its own, so you're no further forwards.

Quite a common problem. There is a fella on Facebook who roams the country surgically removing the dpf innards and remapping the ecu. This permanently solves the dpf regen issue and at the moment have no trouble passing emmision test for mot. The 2.5 d-max seems particularly prone though the 1.9 is not immune. https://eptuning.net/ or Elite Performance Tuning on Facebook
