Looking a reseed some hill ground PH 6 with more treated CA cake going on later on. Ground wet in the winter dry in summer what's the best mix ??

Your assuming again , corner of that forestry goes up and up , that bit there that's having slurry today has never seen slurry that I know of , certainly not in the 50years we owned itDon't know many "hill" farms that grow potatoes.

Yes indeed a totally different scenario to a ‘hill’ near Lampeter.You may farm on a "hill" but that certainly isn't what the OP is referring to as hill ground!

That’s why I suggested Watsons seeds and their knowledge on Scottish varieties I also think @hally will know about grasses to suit the climate up there.
Very good mix for the west coast it was my ‘go to’ seed mix when I farmed in the west. I actually got some fantastic silage yields of it as well on some inbye fields.Thanks Kev, my recommendation would be thisView attachment 1029436
Yep we have it on dozens of “proper” hill farms around here and they swear by it. Tough as nails and long lasting. I am afraid a lot of productive mixes just are no use on poor hill ground.Very good mix for the west coast it was my ‘go to’ seed mix when I farmed in the west. I actually got some fantastic silage yields of it as well on some inbye fields.
