H&L milk taxi or Urban milk shuttle?

Location

Had thought about one until the price came in! I’ve bought a Wyevale mixer and splashed out on a deluxe white bucket with a pouring spout from RS components (£30+). Works just fine, all for less than £500. Ok, motor drive would have been helpful with the hill we live on, but I can live with a bit of effort.

How do you warm the water? We are thinking of the JFC Milk Cart but would have to have the electric warmer that goes with it not unless I can think of another way.

We have an instantaneous water heater. One of the advantages of having three phase electric. Low heat setting gives water at around 40*C. Bought it off eBay, it’s a bit slow as something inside has restricted water flow, I think it would be a good idea to get another one as a backup.

I take it these would be no good for me when I'm feeding calves in 3 different steading? How stable would it be to move around with a bike trailer or loader bucket between yards?

Maybe in a bike trailer, if it was well strapped in, and drove steady.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
