Think there are more casualties with light aircraft than Fixed wing microlights
Quite a lot have ballistic recovery systems now.
Wing falls off, just pull the lever and float back to earth.
Mine doesn`t have that though, keeps you more focussed :ROFLMAO:

I dont like to put you off this sport, but research suggests flying microlight is something like 400 times more likely to kill you per passenger mile than light aircraft. The figures are truly shocking. I was on the verge of buying one not so long ago. They look fantastic

Article for Flight Safety Bulletin

Microlight aircraft are some of the safest, cheapest and most fun aircraft flying in the UK. The fatal accident rate, at around 1 per 30,000 flying hours is similar to that of General Aviation overall, and rather better than some parts of it in recent years.

Please, I am not trying to put you off what I am certain is a great fun sport, but in fact the fatal rate for general aviation is actually nearer 0.005 deaths per 100,000 hours.
Of course that includes commercial aviation
Only looked the things up when I realised my insurance did not cover micro lights. Has not stopped me travelling in some odd vehicles which are more dangerous. 😉

No problem
I work on the idea that being a farmer is probably the most dangerous thing i do
If I decide to fly down to Rougham, I`ll give you a shout ;)

How long can you fly for fuel wise

Would that be adjusted to allow for the fact that 10hrs flying in an airliner will see you cover 5000 miles whereas the microlight will only cover about 100?! 😂

There’s a chap callled Tucker Gott on YouTube who flies paramotors, that looks fun.

Keeping 10lts in reserve gives a flight time of 5 hrs
Whether my bladder could last that long is another matter :ROFLMAO:
Burns 10 lt per hr, cruising 90 mph.
So from here to say Inverness @ 2hr 45min, very doable
That’s quite good
can you land at other small airfields easy enough and what do they charge

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
