Are you not just a little bit sympathetic towards him like his wife then? Its very easy to click on something ,and unintended garbage comes up.I guess after that, curiousity must have got the better of him.
Only in respect of there being sites which carry threads with decidedly dodgy material. It doesn't take long to recognise the error in clicking on one of those ~ and closing it. He was, as he's admitted, playing on his phone which he should not have done in the first place, and then he compounded the stupidity by continuing to view, and by revisiting the site. My sympathy towards him ended when he said he was looking up agricultural machinery during some lull in parliamentary process.

I feel sorry for his wife and family. I don't know about his relationship or family dynamic, but they shouldn't be dragged through it all.

From the newspaper articles, they seem a very loving, stable, and supportive couple.

I assume that the fact that he has resigned means that there will no longer be a whips enquiry.
Which in some ways is a bit of a shame if what happened to him was an accident which he might have been able to prove by looking in detail at his mobile phone's history.

However, I suspect that Boris and his fellow liars, in mean chums, are so sh!t scared of the forthcoming elections, that they wanted to bury him!

Did Neil decide to go or was he pushed into doing so?

As for all this ridiculous Woman's woke movement, when TF are we going to get a Man's Hour on BBC radio 4 to counter all this 'Aren't women hard done' by nonsense?

For example, I listened to a Woman' Hour program the other days dealing with Divorce and Coercive Control, which is now a Criminal Offense, on which it said that this is a problem effecting [only] women!
No, it is not!

Maybe it is about time we men started standing up for ourselves more.
The so called fairer sex needs to become a lot more fair!

On top of which ITV News stated that for the first time ever, Women's body anatomy is now being used to educate Student Doctors rather than just Men's. Forgive me, but Women's Pelvis widths being proportionally greater than a Man's as part of the birth canal, was taught to us for Biology 'O' level in the 1970's!

Two definitions of the word "Politics" - taken from a well known dictionary :

1) the activities associated with the governance of a country or area, especially the debate between parties having power.

2) activities aimed at improving someone's status or increasing power within an organization

While many politicians may enter politics with the first definition in mind, almost any politician who wishes to gain a higher office will need to be skilled with the second. These activities sometimes are ones that the individual does for himself to gain the status desired. Other times they are what a person does to others in order to further their own (or their parties) interests. Even those who don't wish to further their position need the same skills.

So many MP's have fallen from grace through either arrogance or naivety or both. Many, and party gate is an example, arrogantly thought they could have parties , just because. Others, like Sunak, thought that it wouldn't be a problem for the public if they or their wives were a little creative with their taxes. Who would find out? who would care? Naive, perhaps arrogant too.

In these days of social media, cameras everywhere, people being paid for exposing opportunities, everyone needs to think about how their actions will affect themselves and others and, for MP's, who already have a bad perception, this is especially true.

What he did was, fundamentally wrong (in a place of work and, especially in that place) and very naive as well. He may have been a top bloke, but if he wanted to stay in politics, he was a stupid bloke too.

Do you remember “The Worm that turned” on the Two Ronnies, early/mid 80s.

it turned out to be a brilliant prediction for the future.

Whilst not all women are "nice", and not all men are "horrible", life is still weighted against women overall. I agree, there are instances of men suffering terribly as a result of coercive control. I heard of a man who was given shelter in a normally exclusively female Women's refuge so as to be safe from an abusive relationship. It's extremely rare. By and large, it's women who find themselves in situations of being under coercive control.

Woman's Hour does accept input from men. There was once a Men's Hour on Radio 4, which did not last.

It's about time that trainee doctors have accurate resources on female anatomy. It's far different from men's than simply pelvic width.

I agree. But I have a step daughter in her second year as a medical student and what ITV News was saying is simply bollox!
Purely joining in the current band-wagon as to how hard done by women allegedly are.

Usually, Woman's Hour do actually point out that this is not just a problem that Women suffer from. I never heard them do so on this occasion.
Was the subject to do with the Darwins? The husband faked his death by pretending there was a canoe accident?

Mrs Darwin would nowadays have been given a more lenient sentence because she was most definitely a victim of her husband's coercive control.
