Very much depends what you see as Putin winning entails, I would guess he would consider now keeping the Dombas regions & the rest of Ukraine staying out of NATO as a win, it would seem some what counter productive to take over the whole of Ukraine permanently & have the border of Russia moved right up against NATO's Poland.
The problem he has is getting NATO & Zelensky to agree to this which will entail a hell of a lot more bloodshed.
So needs to attack Finland then as their now a threat as their going to join NATO ??

Got to keep Finland that Neutral buffer country ??

If not attacking why not Brian ???

Finlands position on the map in relation to Russia does not pose such a threat in Putin's eyes & it is by no means certain that Finland will get the agreement of all NATO countries for some time, besides we are often told Russia have very little armaments left now after fighting the relatively small Ukraine.
Finland and Sweden’s application's have now been approved by all the member states

Nope their application has been approved just like Ukraine to the EU, Turkey will not agree to Finland actually joining unless Finland bus all Turkey’s “enemies” from the safety of Finland straight to Turkey’s jails which I can’t see them agreeing to.

I think you better watch this video (watch past adverts) and you might change you mind how important Finland joining NATO and the nightmare it is for Russia 👍

I'll admit I'd no Idea where their nuclear bases were and had never heard of the Kola peninsula or where it was, or knew how important the Baltic sea was for their submarines.

Finland can teach us a thing or two abou peacetime readiness for wartime.

Why should it be seen as a nightmare for Russia after all NATO is a just peaceful club of mates?

Just like Ukraine was peaceful but apparently them joining NATO is a threat to Russia, it's the Kremlin line you keep pushing makes no sense to me or most on here !!!

You've a Russian mindset or at least repeat Kremlin talking points, so you explain it 🤣

Been fun can you come out to play later 😁

I’m just surprised that so many seem to find Russia’s dislike of Ukraine joining NATO so surprising, in anybodies eyes NATO is Russia’s enemy & it is disingenuous to pretend different so hardly surprising we are where we are is it!

Maybe you should listen to this chap who had met Putin numerous times.

I'm sure you're a big fan, I quite like him now but at one time certainly didn't but extremely smart.

Unfortunately you've just bought into the Kremlin line hook line and sinker, you seem extremely smart but just can't seem to get past their excuses.

I'm certain you won't change but curious should Britain leave NATO then and completely disarm, it must be awfully threating for Russia that we have all these weapons 🤔

The russians have an ocean problem, not having great access. They have/had a wet dream about russian soldiers washing their boots in - and consequently having a port on - the Indian ocean. Which would only mean having to invade Pakistan through Afghanistan in soviet times.

NATO is simply Tthe western democracy`s joint defense against Russian invasion and expansionism. That is why Russia don`t like NATO. Of course Putin does not admit this but surely you can read between the lines.
If the Russian people don`t like the Russian style of domestic government it is their`s to get rid of. If others around them decide that they don`t want the same it is up to them, with the help of NATO if applicable, to say NO.
I hope this makes it easier to understand.

I have a feeling it's not me that needs to read between the lines, many seem to be missing whole sentences as to what actually goes on in the real world rather than the spoon fed rubbish we are constantly bombarded with!
Still for the media at least Ukraine is now yesterdays news as so much more important things are happening like all the Tory rubbish wanting Bozo's job!

The Russian governments main concern is that its people realise how much better off they would be in a democracy with leaders you can get shot of without the fighting. They were pqarticularly concerned about the Ukraine as it has historically had such strong links.

Yep I'm sure the Russians are looking at the UK right now with massive debts, spiralling waiting times for ops, food banks etc & saying to themselves if only we had someone like Bozo & the Tories how wonderful our country would be!

The life for the average Russian is sh*te Putin and his Oligarch cronies have syphoned off all the wealth of the nation into the hands of a very few while the bulk of Russians live a hand to mouth existence. Life expectancy is ten years lower than most of Europe thanks to virtually non existent health care .
This is an a country with a huge amount of natural resources which are being plundered for the very few.
I suppose in your media sources though they never mention such silly things

I guess you could say that if the Russians were prepared to put themselves so far down drowning in debt as the UK, US & most of Europe are then they too could have all the wonderful services that we have!

they certainly could if they had not spent half their resources on their vast military and secret services, oh but then how would they keep their people in there place?
