Late sowing winter wheat varieties

Cranium? I’ve around 15 tonnes on trailer’s that I didn’t get dressed. Thinking of drilling a bit this week if it stays dry but just so we’ve got some seed for next year. Plenty of spring wheat in the shed to drill in the spring

I start on KWS chilham this time of year. Get it dressed; try drill it now but if not just leave it until the spring and drill it then. Saves having a trailer load of bagged seed to keep the rats away from for a whole year #2019/20

I wouldn't consider sowing now , and if I did it sure as fuk wouldn't be dressed

Normally I’d agree about the dressing; but if you think about it, SPD dressings for damping off etc are intended to cover conditions precisely as we have at the moment. You could almost argue it’s the only time they are warranted (if the grain has been tested clear for bunt etc). But yes; I have some ex beet land that I might try to drill and that will be straight of the heap with some Kerrin I’ve got left (just because my Chilham is now tight with more than expected spring cropping)
