Agents communication and timeliness aren’t the issue here. He ordered as soon as we had agreed on a selection and forwarded info from LIC as soo. As he had it.
I don't know about conventional prices but the lowest I could get sexed straws on a bulk order was £32. That's about £10 more than just about any other company but at 50% conception it's still only £20/heifer more to have the right animal. I'm using a mix of LIC and others.
I've used LIC for 20 years. Their biggest selling point to me is a good choice of proven bulls.
I wouldn't touch any genomics, especially from Irish breeding. Linear traits, especially udder support is huge to us as our cows are expected to do 550+ solids.
I've had loads of "grazing" catalogues from other companies recently and they're largely genomic and no printed linears. The grazing world doesn't have the reference population to rely on these.
I've also seen alot of printed breeding figures that are well out of date when you look them up on the latest proof run from NZAEL or EBI webapp.
I'd love more competition for LIC, they're massively complacent. The rest need to raise their game.
It definitely wasn’t for the sake of .50 that everyone switched from LIC. They didn’t have the semen when they said they would multiple times and weren’t upfront about it leaving us scrambling at the last minute. From memory sexed LIC was £25I don't know about conventional prices but the lowest I could get sexed straws on a bulk order was £32. Maybe. You said yourself that they won't be bothered, as they can sell to someone else. I don't have a very high opinion of their new manager. The important thing is that you get your cows in calf. Both @Cows 'n grass and @jerseycowsman for example are spring calving and using semen from other suppliers, others will be too, and doing well on it. Start looking before the others sell out, or can't get delivery to you when you want. LIC have set themselves up like a cult, but you can leave, you are right not to want to burn your bridges though. So everybody. Was i. naive to expect some sort of contact from them today?
Have managed to source them elsewhere thank you for the offer though. I think we have had some sex from cogent.Lazy what bulls had you hoped to of used, maby forum members can see and post some alternatives.

So was that 25 heifer calves?
Did anyone ever use a LIC bull MORTENSENS AWE?
Ordered a 100 straws in a moment of weakness in 2016 only got two cows from it left.
Wow34 tagged to AWE and survived until weaning I didn't look to see when the exited the herd after that.
Did anything in particular kill them off?
