Monumental Neglect Of Duty

Want to know why the UK doesn't have PPE ?

Well it's down to organisations such as "The Guardian", HMG & the EU which all put CO2 figures on bits of paper before pragmatic realities of what is NEEDED to sustain a population.

I wouldn't trust "The Guardian" to wipe my backside with .. it's fake news on GM crops was pure hatred .. and Monbiot is quite frankly a nutter.

I stopped when I read the guardian. Shall we get through this before we start criticising?

Headline in Sunday Times ... Government were warned from mid January that Britain faced over 380,000 deaths if they didn’t lockdown immediately but ignored advice until mid March

Also, another front page headline that U.K. is allowing flights and esp private jets to come in when other countries have stopped such activity.

Apparently, I uk private jet flew to Monaco. They weren’t allowed off and were sent away again ?

No harm to read it through. I think you will find the facts irrefutable.

I find it very difficult to read facts in the media. If we'd have locked down earlier, then it wouldn't of had the same effect. People would have got bored. I know of several firms starting back up tomorrow.

The only way I can see as an alternative would have been to lockdown high risk and over 60s, earlier and for longer, and let everyone else carry on and care for them.

But we're not facing 380,000 deaths, so they acted.

Government suggesting over 70s have to be locked down until next spring when a vaccine is available... good luck with that one

Problem with the lockdown was if it was done too early and had tanked the economy then there would have been complaints that it was done too early and had ruined peoples lives. As it is now been done too late and is now ruining peoples lives. Doesn't matter what is done critics will always find the flaws especially in these times with a lot of experts researching the subject matte whether some of the research they do stands up to validation is another subject. Unfortunately we are where we are and need to pull together and get through it.

It’s a long read, but essential nonetheless. Really, if ever there was a need for a second coming of “led by donkeys”, the time is now.

A fair summary in my view. A real Eton mess.

i find it ironic that in the early stages air travel was untouchable yet now locking down most of the population is acceptable.
Too little was done in the crucial early stages. They just didn’t see the seriousness of it or more likely didn’t want to.
