Moving fert to the field

Are you looking to do this with 1 man or 2 and 2 machine's?

My furthest will be 4 miles and just do it all with the spreader myself as we've not got anything or anyone to do it

My thinking is either one trailer getting dropped off before hand with telehandler or a long draw bar and the fert man taking that up too.
Roads to acces it is so rough it takes us too long is the major issue

5 miles is furthest here and it all gets done in the spreader. Never usually more than 375kg/Ha in one application. If you are fertilising for spuds I can see that taking a load on the trailer would be worthwhile. I can manage 2.4Tonnes in the spreader so at your max spreading rate that’s 24 acres to a fill which isn’t too bad for me. But I guess if you have 200 + acres to do at that distance you will want to trailer it over.

I've seen a few trailer's with a hiab on and wondered about it as well but would need to have a long drawbar under the spreader to make it worthwhile then just pull up alongside and use the spreader tractor hydraulic to run it .

How many acres are you spreading in the area. I thought of taking some on a trailer to some off land but by time I'd loaded trailer taken it over come back hooked spreader on gone over loaded it spread it come back unhitched spreader and gone back for trailer I thought it was easier to load spreader at home and take it and spread it and do a couple of trips

120 or so acres in that block on a multicut system so every day counts. Probably the best part of a days spreading with messing around and poor roads
Could you get the fertiliser delivered to site or is access bad?
Bag lifter on fert spinner other option
It’s largely just off lying blocks of land so no where to really store it. Looking at an artic trailer conversion and fitting a rail so we wouldn’t have to strap could just pull it up there but then we’ve still got to load it

loader tractor and bale trailer

But gave up doing that spent to much time pissing about loading trailer an trying to get a lift back for the spreader tractor  :rolleyes:new tractor does 55k so just fill her right up in the yard

Seen this before and probably best option for this to make it one man operation. Mount some hydraulic fittings to side of spreader with some taps pressurise it before you leave tractor then plug pipes in and turn taps on
