very late now though. I was advised for the oats to put it all in the seedbed, 110kg/ha for them. RB209 says something like 160kg/ha for spring barley I think, but depends on SNS (previous crop soil type etc).Half of what you intend for the crop, then the balance as soon as you can see the tramlines is what we’ve always done.
That would be my only concern.Worry if it comes dry it’ll not get washed in..

If it comes dry will it be taken up even if it's in the seed bed, given that it has to be carried in water to the plant.Worry if it comes dry it’ll not get washed in..
The only thing with this approach is the problems I had last year.If it comes dry on late drilled Spring Barley, it's probably better to save the second dose.

Basically had intended to put another 50 units N on at tillering as usual; but we had that long lasting drought which made it pointless putting on more N, and by the time rain was forecast the stuff was almost out in head at about a foot tall.
Worst winter barley crops we ever had last year! Glad I’ve stopped growing the stuff!
Bad enough at only £150 a tonne even if you get a decent crop………..
92 units/ ac .ho hoIt’s nearly May.
Put it all in the seedbed, especially if urea.
