We have 3 tractors with front links and 1 without. The one without has 14 55kg weights.i can't remember the last time they came off .the linkage weights are on and off all the time.i do have a second hand linkage to fit don't it but it needs altering so it's on the never ending list of things to do

Front Linkages should be standard equipment on all modern tractors. Lifes to short to have a bad back and spend ages lifting weights off with slings and chains and doing up all the locking bolts.

I suppose I could do as others do and leave the front loader on but it blocks visibility and hinders access in sheds gateways and pulling onto roads. Front linkage would be the ideal answer

my last tractor had front links and I didn’t like them because it’s a loader tractor the linkage would get folded up and need unfolded and was a faff on

loads fasterdropping them on with the skidsteer

Nooooooooooooo!

What do you need them for and how often are they on and off?
We only need them for feb slurry on the hills so about twice a year and even then 6 or 8 is usually enough.

Need the full set for the sprayer and at least some on some of the hillier ground with the fert spreader. Sprayer could be several times a week

Leave the loader on the 2 cases as they are used every day. The fergie could do with a cheap front link as it ain't ideal humping the weights on and off that

One bolt to undo and lift the ton block off one tractor using bit of chain that’s attached permanently takes under a minute. Other one has front links but tend to leave the frame on nd just take the weights off using the same method.

I’m not sure David, but it is something I will look into. Having recently purchased a tractor with front linkage, dropping weight on and off is now a luxury, spoke with our engineer in the village about trying to come up with a way to lift 20 wafer weights off in one, he says it should work but am now considering sticking them on eBay and buying a block.

I used to stick a bar through the clips and a bar through the top and lift them on and off with the forklift

I think it should be easy enough to do, it’s just encouraging the numpties I work with to remove them when it’s not needed, something like a block which can literally be lifted on and off without needing to bugger around with bars would be appealing.
