forestry is still on red as is fishingWill the boys that do forestry mounding have to run on white?
Yes id say this is the whole reason & all of construction weither they like it or not can pass it on, yes the end customer is ultimately footing this bill.Because construction uses far more red diesel than ag and making them using white diesel equates to millions or even billions in tax revenue I believe.

Gov just finding easy targets to claw all off the pandemic spend back in one way or the other
It was planned for before the pandemic and actually been put off for a year. I think this may be why there hasn't been more uproar about it as many may have thought it had been shelved when it didn't happen.Yes id say this is the whole reason & all of construction weither they like it or not can pass it on, yes the end customer is ultimately footing this bill.

no doubt thats it then, construction can pass it on Farmers have no means in doing this & i'll bet they know all about thatIt was planned for before the pandemic and actually been put off for a year. Because red diesel is an easy target that’s worth billions to the treasury.I just don't understand why they are using red diesel as a vehicle for it. It's pointless.
They will regret the day they do away with it or make likes of us the farmers have tax rights to claim the same amount of duty back on white. Thats even more open to abuseBecause red diesel is an easy target that’s worth billions to the treasury.
It’s also been a thorn in there side for years because it’s so open to abuse! By restricting access to multiple sectors it reduces the opportunity to be misused.
misuse = loss in tax revenue, so win win for gov.
I doubt they will do away with it all together for that very reason, it with be far easier to regulate supply rather than be monitoring everyone making rebate claims. They will regret the day they do away with it or make likes of us the farmers have tax rights to claim the same amount of duty back on white. Ive had diesel Cars here for over 25years now & not once ever considered putting Red in there tanks.
I think it has the same amount of duty as derv. You'd need have a registered fishing boat or aquaculture business thoHow much is the duty on petrol? Could make the can-am buggy more attractive
Trains, busses, trams, fridge units etc, etc but it all adds up! Train’s keeping red but are buses losing it?

Buses run on whiteHeck, I never realised the average bus ran on red!!
Can someone explain to me why the government have done away with red diesel use in construction, what is the intended aim of this?
Pikeys still OK to use Red then... The authoriies don't/won't stop them.travelling people fairs circus etc exempt mmmmm
Nah there'll be plenty of white to theive now.Pikeys still OK to use Red then... The authoriies don't/won't stop them.
Talking with a local copper we know well last week.If they didn't make them exempt they'd have to police them and they wouldn't want to do that.
