Red Tractor Detergent Disinfectant

Evening once again red Tractor has moved the goal posts, having used Fam 30 for many years it is no longer suitable for disinfection of grain stores. What disinfectant are farmers using to tick the box for Food safe disinfectants.

Thanks in advance

What would actually happen if you all turned your backs on RedTractor?

All UK produced food would instantly be unsafe to eat, loaded with chemicals/pesticides/drugs, poor animal welfare, rats released in grain stores etc etc, and worst of all untidy farmyards.

Consumers would be blockading supermarkets demanding the return of the red tractor on products, refusing to buy all the imported products of unknown provenance that had travelled 1000’s of miles.

In short, the world would end and everyone would starve......

It would make a global pandemic look like a walk in the park.

You will now be receiving an instant on the spot inspection this morning 8am sharp for even thinking such thoughts

Shouldn't be using the same trailer for muck and then grain!!! I was hauled up on only Steam cleaning and using fam30 on trailers.
A sole insecticide for grain store was fine (no cattle kept in temp store)

I had this a couple of years ago- I was struggling to find a combined detergent/ disinfectant on the defra recommended list that I could actually buy in practice in the real world. I had an email conversation with the RT body, repeatedly telling them “Tell me what you want me to buy and I will buy it”, but they simply could not point to any available product.

A few days later and they passed me...

why not you can eat your breakfast off it there is no trace of anything after my expert power washing.
it then like the bucket has multiple washes anyways several times later. long before any grain is ever in it

Had that discussion with my inspector, once used for muck can't then be used for grain no matter how many times its washed, same as grain lorries. But you can still buy a secondhand trailer that could have been just hosed out and use that for grain

So what’s the definitive answer here? If I use a trailer to shift FYM then wash and disinfect it is that ok? I cant tell from the standards:

OT.d Key
Vehicles, trailers and sheets must be thoroughly cleaned, power washed and sanitised with a combined food grade detergent/ disinfectant if they have previously carried material other than combinable crops
R
n Cleaning records
OT.e Key
Vehicles, trailers and sheets must not be used for carrying combinable crops if they have previously carried material that is on the TASCC Haulage Exclusion List

I can’t find a TASCC list, but the AIC list:

directs you onward to a site that is behind a password wall.

Im really none the wiser!

I dunno 🤷‍♂️.
Accidentally gave the game away to our inspector. When I asked what I was supposed to do about it, he said "dont say you haul muck with them"
Tbf he couldnt see the reasoning when the trailer is steam cleaned either
