As ever with engineering solutions there are different compromises to reach the same goal. Those CNH and Fastrac tractors, along with Valtras and Sisu engined Challengers use a relatively large amount of adblue because their engine designers chose not to use EGR. My old tier 4 interim 939 used much more adblue than the tier 4 final one I now because the later engine has EGR. JD have always pushed EGR to the limit and the 6250R we had on demo this Autumn used very little Adblue.
