It would seem there was a diesel option fitted from 04' to '11 but it was never available in the UK or Ireland. It being a Renault 1.5 engine as used in the second generation Clio. Don't know what would be involved in doing the conversion from a petrol one though..........

Suzuki Jimny Pickups Has any one got or tried one and can you get one with a diesel engine
Or are there any other ones like it
We use a Jimny with the back seats taken out & a floor to roof dog-guard between the front seats & load area. Makes a great 2-seater "pick-up" & is classed as standard for insurance purposes. Locks properly too, so you can park it in town with your shopping in the back! (They don't make a diesel version but the mpg is so good that it hardly matters.)

I ve noticed that since several firms and articles (including here) have shown and advertised their appeal that 2 nd hand values have risen and you don t see that many advertised now. In last 6 months 2 farmers in my area have bought converted Jimmy s and are using them like a Gator on sheep farms. Both are very happy and have saved a lot of money both from purchase price and running costs.

A friend of ours tried to get a brand new Jimny & was told there's a 18month waiting list!

There are quite a few local to me, Shropshire Quads are based about a mile from me and I know the owner well. I've only heard good reports, There's one working on the livestock side of a farm where I do the arable work. It gets some serious stick and seems to handle it well. The owner is very happy and rates it very highly compared to the previous Polaris ranger and Gators it's replaced. He's had it gas converted.

That looks more like it was done with a tin opener and lump hammer.

Plasma cutter and a lump hammer I'll have you know!

We're not complete cowboys...

Carries a round bale out to the sheep, takes feed to the pigs, fetches firewood.

It's used every day and it cost nothing.
I was given it.

How much have you spent on your farm runaround?
