It's not just Jimnys though, the Toyota Rav4 and the like make a lot more sense to buy second hand and then adapt if needed, than spending the insane money on a JD gator thing. Proper seats, a shut up passenger compartment and a heater, even air con is surely an advantage.
No doubt about it, some have no practical
Ability tho and just want to pay and play .

Rav 4s have a high first gear and no low box pretty useless for shepherding on hills ect
 
Yet a few in the hills are using them, I know one who looks after 4000 ewes out of a Rav4
With ours if you stop in bottom of a hill and set off you have to rive on the clutch and Rev it quite abit The old one was just the same

no where near as nice as smoothly setting off and quietly going with a proper low box 4x4 without ripping the grass up

I’d think so yes Definitely, unless you really desperately need pick up I’d just leave body alone.
Done a quick bit of research (nothing detailed yet) and it seems there's a good chance that if the chassis remains unaltered, it wouldn't be too difficult.
