With all this talk of Trelleborg not being great on slopes, am i better off swapping my 60% michelins from my old tractor onto the new one thats done 1500hrs on Trelleborgs that are around 80% now with small crack in-between cleats. Or put a new set of Michelins on and be done with it? Intend to keep it for a long time and never had issues for grip or sliding with the old tractor.

I would get a set of new Michelins.

I've had many brands of tyres over the years and I have found Michelins to be the best. I've got them on 2 tractors, 2 cars and the Defender! I even got a set of Michelin Cross Climate for my granddaughter's car yesterday from Blackcircles, they are for the next 2 Christmases and 2 birthdays.

On these various tyre threads there have been problems with most makes from the rubber being too hard, too soft cracked sidewalls and lugs.Very few complaints about Michelin,I know they are expensive but I still think they are cost efficient,I won’t have anything else here on mainline machines.More by luck than judgement the last 2 new tractors here have been on Omnibibs, even put an 18inch gash on one which they repaired at 25 percent tread only cos it was Michelin

Not sorted ,had a long conversation with the said guy ,to sort out the problem ,now an email this morning backtracking what you agreed
Mr andrew daniels your not a man of your word , plan b will be started monday are trelleborg picking up the bill
Will never buy anything your company produce again
Very very poor if he is not a man of his word, people like that are a complete waste of time and should not have a job in a business were you word is your bond

The main problem with Trelleborg tyres is that for years they claimed there tyres would run at low pressures like the Michelin Ultraflex tyres but they wouldn't which led to lots of splits and cracks. We have a set of there latest 1050 vf tyres on our new tractor and very pleased so far but they were incredibly expensive!

I will send you emails paul going back to march ,when tyres where ordered and paid for when covid kicked in as they said a price rise for april, tyres eventually turned up june , one damaged ,as they sent them on a pallet 😳 , took wheels into depot at tyre place request ,so tractor been sat on blocks since , then sent another set of lower load rated tyres , and geuss what damage again , tyre co trying to resolve issue but very very slow if any responce , so i rung direct and they agreed to put lower spec tyres on then replace with higher load rating ,when some in country , so now the man in question emails and backs out saying they wont honour what he agreed ,
So the fun starts with a hire tractor at £1000 week and wait for a set of michelins coming and trelleborg will be getting a bill for hire an dprice difference

I'm on stony ground and give tyres a very hard time, two identical tractors but ones on Michelin and one on Trelleborgs.
The Trelleborgs are in a very bad way at 2800 hrs compared to the Michelin at 4100 hrs...

With these 'reviews' it makes me want to stick with Continental/Mitas to be honest.... Our set of 600/480 65 profile I have been very impressed with to be honest and they have done a lot of road work! 5000hrs and the backs are almost gone now to be fair.

I've got one front one that has developed a 'flat spot' and is wearing quite a bit on the inside and people say they can hear me coming for miles but they'll just have to keep going.

Wider tyres can be quite lethal on banks for sure, but in my experience Trelleborgs gripped SO much better at <50% compared to Michelins that had 'gone hard' and just felt like they wanted to take off at >50%

🤷‍♂️

So if a Michelin and trellberg cost the same, but at 3000 hrs the Michelin is bald but the trellberg has 40 % but sidewalls have gone.
Which is the best tyre?
Your scenario is too make believe for me to contemplate. Bloke was here ten minutes ago with a Fendt 936 on Trelleborg tyres and was lambasting said machines tyres funnily enough. @Hanzcock
