Works fine on our jcb shovel and the old handlerDo the rams need resealing on the grab?
Absolutely, I expect it not to be brand new. Just asking the question as to where the line is.
I'll just say what the problems are, otherwise there is no context to it.
N.b I am not complaining - probably not the right word to of used in the OP. I am just merely asking what people expect from used machines.
I haven't spoken to either dealer yet or maybe will not. I am not "slagging" them off as the service was good from both off them.
All issues are probably solved straightforward.
Fertiliser spinner, left hand opening ram leaks - alot.
Telehandler. A few things I didnt notice when a viewed, but they are all things with age. However - grabs won't stay open. They will close on gravity, this obviously interferes will its functionality.
Cab fan. Didn't work when I viewed but was told it would be. It certainly works but no air actually comes through the vents.
Think he stated Merlo further upGrab closing on gravity is possibly nothing wrong with the handler, some makes require a check valve on the attachment as they are open to tank when spool is centered.
What make handler is it?

Invoice normally arrives before machine in my experience not a week or 2 later. This cuts both ways. All to often I have heard of people looking at a bit a s/h kit, shaking the salesman's hand as sold in working order.
Then the invoice arrives a week or two later with the words 'sold as seen ' or 'no warranty ' or similar on it.
That is not fair or reasonable either if a machine is sold in working order, and for whatever reason turns out not to be. A badly leaking ram could very well fall into that category, as any oil leaking onto the ground has very serious environmental liabilities I'm afraid.
Don't think anyone does anything for nothing these days ?Slightly off topic.... do main dealers that sell S/H stuff make much of a margin ? Dos it vary between dealers ?
In my experience, you just have to accept faults with S/H stuff. Sometimes you get lucky and only spend £ on them. sometimes it's £££££££££.
Mostly bought S/H over the last 30 years, but buying a 10 series Ford is completely different to buying something modern. Seriously thinking buying new only from now on.
£100k tractor for 50 acres isn't too extravagant is it ?
Plus new ant perfect often too!when I buy a second hand machine I judge it for myself and pay what I think it’s worth. First thing I do is get it home and do some jobs to it, I expect it will second hand machinery, if you want perfect then buy it new.
