Patchwork is worth a look I'm happy enough with mine . Avoid claas the neighbour's got one and he follows the lines on screen and ends up with butts in most breaks he takes in when mowing

+1 for patchwork, had a unit for 10 years with very little problems ( excellent product support & back up when needed )
Simple , easy to set up , intuitive to use , quick to shift between tractors when required.
Give them a phone direct - Andrew is very helpful

Easy (10 min) if you want it to be, but it won't be as tidy. At the bottom end of the scale you're talking power plug, window sucker, magnetic antenna on roof and jumble of wires.

Could I not buy 2 antennas and power plugs and just swap the box ? Or do the wires no unplug from it

Yes, though not much point on the power cable if you use the d plug. Not best practice but fine for basic light bar.

Rough figures for the trimble 250 as an example: 900 for head unit, 300 for decent antenna. You could use a patch antenna (should be 10s of pounds) for 2nd tractor, but I haven't any trimble experience - was OK on a teejet.

I had patchwork to start with 15 years ago and was great then. Next I had John Deere sf1 it was no better than patchwork. Sold that before we moved and so far manage without. It is a lot of money on a 350 acre farm for the odd bit of spraying fert spreading or mowing. I think I will manage without unless a truly amazing deal appears!

I have a trimble ezi guide 500 and use it for exactly what the op wanted.

Once it is on the tractor - and about 10 minutes to change, or a bit less if you park both tractors near to each other, you will use it for a lot more - such as ballast rolling in short grass into the sun for example, stirring hay when the difference between turned and unturned isn't obvious in all lights, remembering where the fertiliser ran out in the middle of the field, measuring the areas of fields to check contract work, plotting the altitude of bits of field to see which way ditches should run etc etc.
