Winter barley varieties for 2021

Your agreement is not with their supplier. It's a bit of a shower if you can't get barley on farm by the end of September. Have they offered up any freebies? Or even given you a likely date of delivery?
Heard today that they cannot get the seed to me before Thursday at the earliest and I have other commitments which means it must all be done by Wednesday night.
The firm itself if from Ashley near Shrewsbury. So I think it is likely to be Wynnstay.
They apologise especially because the order was made so early, but that is now fecking use to me so I have told them that the order is cancelled.
I’ll drill it with HS wheat.

Fecking useless merchants when they do not realise that this upsets my rotation and grain storage plans.
We won’t be buying any seed from them or Hutchinsons again and they will be getting a large bill for messing us about so much!

Surely no excuse not to get winter barley out to farms in time, I can understand beans in a year like this!
We dressed our 65t of barley seed up straight after we had harvested it. One less job to worry about

Growing Bolton, ordered seed in first week September and it arrived within 3 days...

Sounds like we got very lucky considering we only decided aug bank holiday we would grow some
Growing it here too , was getting worried that no one else had heard of it and not growing the stuff but can be rest assured that if it’s a dud variety I am not the only one to main later on!

We ordered spring wheat through Hutchinson's, wynnstay were the haulier and broke down 3 Fridays in a row supposedly.. that was ordered in the October 2020, didn't arrive till Feb.

We did end up with a discount for messing us about. You may get some luck with getting some money out of them
