Bales into diet feeder

Recently bought a small diet feeder fir feeding bales out to our cattle and sheep, so far going grand except that the tanco bale shear we have got is not working in that despite being 4 or 5 foot above the feeder often the bale turning on the tub seems to grab the plastic or more often the net and take it into the machine . Dont like to see net in my mix so thinking of getting rid but how would i lift a chopped bale onto the feeder without it falling to bits halfway up?
Looked at a keltic but too big and numb around our sheds.
We also have to handle square straw bales aswell
Tried splitting the bale on the floor then loading but too messy for my liking on a windy day it blows all over the tractor. Tia.

Problem is all these suggestions mean dropping off an attachment when we want to add a grabfull of straw to the diet or drop a few slices off in the odd shed we have that’s not accessible to the blower. That’s time consuming when putting in a few bales a day. Would a bucket grab do all those jobs but without dropping off attachments and not allowing silage to drop everywhere? I can’t be doing with bits of silage blowing everywhere.

We always have a big square bale opened so just grab a few slices just like a grab and tip it in. Tbh it’s the net wrap getting in that’s bothering me, they seem able to segregate the plastic but we never find the net in the feed passages 😤

Be a hell of a weight for my little 4ton Kramer not to mention the cost.

Got one of these on my JCB robot. Cost Can't be alot more than bale shear with bale unroller you can put as much as you like in feeders then go to next one

Sack diet feeder off and shove bales against the feed barrier :)

put it on floor pull rope and back out you've got spikes mines automatic
Yeah we used to have one, traded it for the Mchale straw blower hitch we have used to do both the feeding and bedding for a good few years. Can’t pick up slices of straw though and if we have to load that, unravel the bale into the feeder then change to a grab to add straw I will get bought else done.

Never tried straw but I can pull silage back on to it from a heap
