Mchale, never had bad bales in silage/haylage and strawthere isn’t a baler on the market that bales silage well, and bales hay and straw well… 2 totally different machines…
If you look hard enough you shall find...Yes...but for the O.P's £5000 budget?
All well and good on a dry time… a bit of snotty wet silage or young silage and you’ll just end up with sponges…Krone Comprima V150.. Does all you ask and well priced!
Mchale belt bales won’t bale wet silage but the single belt balers probably manage it the best on the market… and the roller balers make pretty nice looking straw bales but nowhere near the straw in them that a belt baler will put in… the point was more why buy a machine too do everything badly.. most farmers would throw a tantrum if they rang somebody too come round bale there straw and they rocked up with a roller baler, but yet seem perfectly happy too bale straw with roller balers themselves….Mchale, never had bad bales in silage/haylage and straw
Apart from 1-2 Kuhn and Krones it’s all Mchales Fusions here. They do the job well and 235kg in barley straw is plenty tight enoughAll well and good on a dry time… a bit of snotty wet silage or young silage and you’ll just end up with sponges…

Looking at buying a round baler. We mainly do Hay And Straw But also a fair bit of silage. Want to do a fair bit of contracting so want a fairly reliable baler.
Just wondering would a chopper be suited. Roughly 5k budget.
Been better going and sitting in house till 7 pm and sun and heat gone and bales through night
Got a Welker...bales everything I throw at it and bales them well. The best baler your gonna get for your budget and too do what you want it too do is the contractors baler on the contractors tractor and he sends you an invoice there isn’t a baler on the market that bales silage well, and bales hay and straw well… 2 totally different machines…

Different peoples opinions… I go square baling at a place that bale there own rounds with a welger and a rollant and they think they make a good bale… and tbh they don’t look a bad bale, but you could pop the centres out and climb in and make a den in there they’re that softGot a Welker...bales everything I throw at it and bales them well.
Walling uk has a welger rp200 for 5k£Got a Welker...bales everything I throw at it and bales them well.
Probably more to do with driver error and lack of experience . I've never had those problems with the 445 .Different peoples opinions… I go square baling at a place that bale there own rounds with a welger and a rollant and they think they make a good bale… and tbh they don’t look a bad bale, but you could pop the centres out and climb in and make a den in there they’re that soft
